Where better to learn to sail than with a highly experienced charter company? As an RYA Recognised Training Centre we can offer the full range of RYA sailing courses from beginner to Yacht master preparation including competent crew, day skipper and coastal skipper.

Our Sea School is led by a fully qualified Yachtmaster Instructor (Ocean) who has over 18000 miles under his belt. We offer courses all year round for both individuals and groups, or we can arrange for private tuition aboard your own boat (POA). Upon successful completion of the course you will be issued with the relevant certification as prescribed by the RYA.

Yachtmaster Prep

Suggested Pre-Course Experience:

50 days, 5 as skipper, 2500 miles, 5 passages over 60 miles, including 2 as skipper, up to half of this can be non-tidal.

Recommended Knowledge:

Navigation to at least Coastal Skipper Shore based level. Boat handling all weathers, man overboard, safety - particularly the collision regulations, meteorology.

Ability After Course:

Prepared for the Yachtmaster examination.

Minimum Duration:

5 days + 2 for RYA Yachtmaster examination.

Course Content:

Assessment and coaching of all the disciplines required to pass the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore exam, from mooring under sail, to “blind” navigation exercises

A separate fee of £155 for the Yachtmaster Exam must be paid directly to the RYA before the exam is taken.
